The Power of Energy: In the World & In Your Body

March 15, 2011

It has been said that a sacred place exists wherever the earth’s energy is gathered into a vortex.  These strongly charged areas of the planet have also been the places where people have chosen to build churches, temples and other centers of spiritual teaching and healing.

For example, places like Stonehenge, Machu Picchu (above), the Pyramids of Egypt, Easter Island, Mt Shasta and Uluru, Australia are well-known energy-vortex spots.

I looked online and discovered that there are three main types of vortexes. All three are replenishing and supercharged with high vibrating energy. The three vortex types are:

Electric ~stimulates and energizes, activates

Magnetic ~attracts energy to the area

Electromagnetic~both activates and attracts energy

Many of these sacred sites contain all three. When you do a Google search for earth chakras, you will find that these earth vortexes (or sacred sites) are listed online. If our bodies have major and minor chakras, it makes sense that the Earth does too because we all are vibrating masses of energy.

It is not surprising that many believe that the Earth’s chakras have become contaminated and in need of clearing.

Just as we learn to clear our own bodies by eating healthy foods, drinking plenty of water, cleansing and meditation, we too can do this type of clearing for the earth. It is not as woo-woo as it sounds. Having the intention to help repair the earth sets the wheels in motion. Prayer and meditation speed those wheels up, so be ready for some strong guidance to come your way.

Think of it this way: when we decide to get healthy, we begin to feed ourselves with better nutrition. In order for some powerful healing to begin, the earth’s population should be fed well. The stronger and more conscious we humans are, the more powerful the vibration of the planet.

Having the intention to clear your own personal energy field sends a picture out into the universe and then the real work can begin. Meditation and practices such as yoga teach us to be mindful and aware. When we are conscious, we are clear to receive guidance to direct us toward our intent or goals.

For instance, if you have asked to clear your channels (chakras) so your life might flow more smoothly, you might be guided to ‘speak up’ more in order to clear your throat chakra, or simply to ‘sing your joy’ out into the world. This ability to speak or sing might clear your life of any stagnant energy that was “choking” or stifling you from expressing yourself freely and feeling joy.

The block to your own guidance and healing is the inability to trust the voice within. The more you begin to trust that voice, the louder and more clear it will become.

The block to receiving the earth’s guidance and healing is fear.

I believe that energy vortexes can also be created when many gather for a common interest, such as praying in church, or practicing in a yoga studio, or meditating in an Ashram. My family jokes about the fact that we have created a relaxing sleep vortex in our family room. Sit down on our comfortable couch or oversized chairs and you are in “the zone.”

I do a lot of praying and meditating (just sitting or laying down to receive guidance) in my bedroom and it feels like a bubble of healing energy when you walk into our room. Stephen and I even had the same dream the other night where we were both being healed with a vibrating cloud of energy. I awoke and my body was still humming along. The feeling was similar to getting an energy healing but much more intense.

There is some very cool energy available for us all to tap into for healing, awareness, or simply to get some important things accomplished in the world.

I have been loving the sensation of having a CLEAN body and the energy rush of drinking fresh organic juice from my new juicer. The nutrient density juice  immediately enters your blood stream and your body instantly benefits. I am also loving my experience in the hot room more as my body becomes more CLEAN and LIGHT. Bikram yoga obviously benefits from good nutrition and slimming down. This practice is a meditation and clearing of toxins from the entire mind, body  and soul.

When we eat a higher vibration of foods, those with organic life force, we too become lighter.

Juicing is becoming more and more popular for a few reasons, one of those being that you gain nearly all of the nutrients your body requires in one little glass. Another being that the food is raw and not cooked and all of the nutrients and vitamins are at their optimum. To follow a cleaner way of eating or a temporary cleanse, you take a break from mucous-forming foods such as sugar, dairy and wheat and replace them with clean foods, smoothies and fresh organic juice that concentrate on vegetables and fruits low in carbohydrates and simple sugars.

Now that my digestive system has rested and gotten back on track, I have noticed several changes into week three of my CLEAN Program,  I have:

A much more positive outlook on life

An overall increase in energy

Clearer skin

Because my body has been flushed of unnatural toxins, I feel cleaner

I have experienced weight loss, even though that was not my intent

And I am experimenting with recipes that pack a nutritional punch! Such As:

Blackberry Apple Juice

3 apples

2 good handfuls dark colored berries, such as blueberries, blackberries or blackcurrants

1/2 lemon (optional)

*Add a few kale leaves, you won’t be able to taste them and Kale is King for detoxing!

Nutritional content: beta-carotene, folic acid, vitamins A, B1,B2, B6, C and E; calcium, chromium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, sulphur.

The entire family fell in love with simple apple juice and Stephen loves organic grapefruit juiced. I try to add kale, beets and wheat grass or broccoli shoots to carrots, lemon and apple. I plug my nose and down it.

But the buzz my body gets tells me it is very happy and thankful! I figure with all the foods I love that I sometimes put into my body, that my body may not love, I can take a back seat and put it’s well-being ahead of my taste buds….once in a while.

I love the following recipe but can’t help but think with some organic tomatoes and just a

little vodka, my body and I would both be buzzing along happily;)

Hunger Pain Be Gone:

4 medium carrots

2 stalks of celery, leaves and all

1 handful of parsley

4 leaves of baby spinach

1 dash of tobasco

**This blog is dedicated to my dear Friend Sally Lewis, who is an Executive Producer at KGW channel 8 in Portland, Oregon. She is her own little swirling vortex of positive energy. After she recently gave Stephen and I a tour of the KGW studio, Stephen said, “Man she is a little tornado isn’t she?” Indeed.

Do you know someone like that in your life? We’d love to hear!

Bon Appetit and Namaste!
